TDLR Curriculum Requirements & Our Expert Training
Our program is meticulously structured to cover all required domains set by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Below is a breakdown of what you will master.
1. Sanitation, Safety & TDLR Law (100+ Hours)
TDLR Requirement: Bacteriology, Decontamination, and Chemical Safety.
2. Nail Theory, Anatomy & Disorders (100+ Hours)
Nail Anatomy: Detailed study of the nail plate, bed, matrix, cuticle, and surrounding skin.
Nail Disease & Disorder Recognition: Learn to identify conditions such as fungal infections, psoriasis, and brittle nails, and understand your role in recommending clients seek medical attention.
Product Chemistry: Understand the chemical composition of polishes, gels, acrylics, and adhesives to ensure safe application and achieve optimal results.
3. Professional Manicuring & Pedicuring (300+ Hours)
The Classic Manicure & Pedicure: Master the foundational skills of consultation, proper shaping, cuticle care, hand/foot massage, and polish application.
Spa & Wellness Services: Training in paraffin wax treatments, exfoliating scrubs, and mask applications for premium service add-ons.
The Perfect Polish: Techniques for flawless application of traditional lacquer, including French and reverse French manicures.
4. Artificial Nails & Advanced Applications (100+ Hours)
Nail Tips & Wraps: Learn proper sizing, adhesion, and blending of artificial tips and fiberglass/silk wraps.
Acrylic (Methacrylate) Systems: Master the application of liquid-and-powder acrylic for full sets, fills, and overlays, including sculpting techniques.
Light-Cured Gels (Gel Polish, Hard Gels): Expertise in applying and removing soak-off gel polishes and building durable hard gel overlays and extensions.
Dip Powder Systems: Training in the popular dip powder method, from application to safe removal.
5. Business & Career Preparation (Integrated Throughout)
TDLR Requirement: Instruction on salon management and client relations.
Client Consultation & Communication: Learn to conduct thorough consultations, manage expectations, and build lasting client relationships.
The Business of Beauty: Essentials of building a personal brand, retailing products, and managing your chair as an independent contractor or employee.
State Board Preparation: Dedicated time to prepare for the TDLR written and practical licensing exams, including mock tests and hands-on demonstrations.
"PSI Mondays": Once you complete 20% of your online theory, you are required to join us every Monday for mandatory in-person review and dedicated PSI (State Board Exam Provider) practice. This ensures you are fully prepared and confident to pass your licensing exams.
